Brief Overview of the Role:

This is the perfect opportunity if you are looking to start a career in Customer Service, in a lively and busy School Office. The knowledge, skills and behaviours you will learn can be applied to many other sectors. You will play an integral part of a highly supportive School Administrative team. No two days are the same, it is challenging, fun and highly rewarding work.

As a Customer Service Apprentice, you will be the first person that our clients engage with, and your goal will be to provide a first-class experience through exceptional service.

You will be using your strong interpersonal skills to proactively offer solutions, ensuring customer satisfaction and an enhanced experience with every call. You will receive task-specific training to allow you to help with any other duties in-line with the school’s office’s needs.

In brief the role will include the following duties:

  • Greeting clients face-to-face
  • Answering the phone and taking messages
  • Responding to social media and email enquiries
  • Helping with diary management
  • Receiving deliveries.

Working Hours:

Monday-Friday 9am – 3.45pm (45 minutes unpaid lunch)

30 hours per week

Monthly wage – £468.98

Please note that your annual salary is split pro rata over 12 months and includes being paid during non-term times.

Desirable Qualifications:

GCSE English – grade A*-C/9-4 or equivalent

GCSE Maths – grade A*-C/9-4 or equivalent

Training to be Given:

You will gain your Customer Service Level 2 or Level 3, whilst gaining experience in an office environment. We believe in continuous growth, which is why you will have constant access to coaching, mentoring in an environment where personal and professional development is celebrated.

Future Prospects:

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, there may be the possibility of a full-time permanent position. This is at the discretion of the employer.

About the Host Employer:-

For the duration of the apprenticeship you will be employed by The Apprenticeship Works, with St Margaret’s C of E Primary School being your Host Employer.

St Margaret’s C of E Primary School is a large two-form entry school in the hear of Orford Village. All the children are accommodated in a single main school site, but benefit from an additional training SMILE Centre, with specialist teaching facilities in Music, DT and IT. The school strives to give their children the very best opportunities, informed through their school vision.
