Remote Learning Support

To comply with current Government Guidance most of our Training Centres are currently closed and we have transferred learning to our Online Platform, Canvas.

Accessing Remote Learning

As part of your Induction, you will have already received instructions on how to register for and access the platform. This includes all current learners undertaking Study Programmes, Apprenticeships and Adult Learning Courses delivered by BCTG Ltd, Further Training, Eurosource Solutions or one of our Partner Providers . 

When you enrolled on your programme you will have received a welcome email from us inviting you to register as a Canvas User. It’s a simple, one off process that gives you access to a range of learning materials, tailored to you and the programme you are following. You can log into your Canvas Profile here https://bctg.instructure.com/login/canvas, using the username and password in the welcome email. We recommend you change your password once registered.

Attendance & Participation

Your Training Advisor will work with you on a group or individual basis using the Canvas platform, via Video Calls (such as MS Teams) and voice calls. Your Training Advisor will always agree these sessions in advance, so its important you can arrange to be available at the agreed time, and ideally in an environment free of distractions. If you are having difficulty making suitable arrangements, please let us know in advance.

Our expectations for participation are explained during induction at the start of the learning programme and details on code of conduct are set out in our Six Steps Guide. Whilst remote learning may be a new and different experience, we encourage all learners to engage as fully as possible.

Whilst initially communication may be led by your Training Advisor, it is important to note this is a two-way process, and we expect learners to reply, answer or contact their Advisor as required.

Access to Suitable Devices  

Our Canvas platform can be accessed on PC/MAC and using the Mobile App downable from the Apple App Store and Google Play. If you do not have access to a suitable device, please speak to your Training Advisor as we may be able to make alternative arrangements for you to access your learning materials. 

Support for vulnerable learners (including those without a suitable environment for learning), learners without technology, connectivity, or learners with SEND

During local or national lockdown, face to face learning can continue for learners with SEND, vulnerable learners, learners who do not have a suitable learning environment, and those who do not have internet access or the technology to work remotely. This will remain under constant review and is dependent on Government guidelines
