What Is It?
The 16 to 19 tuition fund is £96 million of one-off funding for the 2020 to 2021 academic year only. It is ring fenced funding for schools, colleges and all other 16 to 19 providers to mitigate the disruption to learning arising from coronavirus (COVID-19).
The funding is being provided to support small group tuition for 16 to 19 students in English, maths, and other courses where learning has been disrupted. For example, vocational courses where assessment has been deferred because of lockdown.
Support We Provide
This means we can provide additional focussed support to our current learners to help them progress through their course. The support we provide will vary between individuals, but often includes more frequent guidance from a Training Advisor and/or access to additional learning materials.
We will target the extra help to those individuals who are yet to achieve their GCSE Grade 4 (or equivalent) in English and/or maths.
Young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) aged 19 to 24 who have an Education, Health and Care (EHC) plan are also eligible for support via the 16 to 19 Tuition Fund.
If you want to find out more about the additional help that is available, speak to your Training Advisor or email us on firstname.lastname@example.org.
